Smilemenders biking around the world

The founder members of Smile Menders, set out in June on the ten week road trip to highlight the challenges faced by people affected by radiation and poverty. Their adventure started in Canada, with an easy start riding across the flat prairies where they came across several emigrants from Natasha’s homeland who spotted the Ukrainian flag on their BMW.

In May 2008 New Zealander Brendon Ball and his Ukrainian-born wife Natasha will embark on a round-the-world journey by motorcycle which will end at the Annual World Dental Congress in Stockholm.

Smilemenders mobile dental clinic

Last year Brendon Ball from the Freshbrook Dental Practice and orthodontist Richard Swift were given a surplus Wiltshire Health Authority mobile dental surgery which they have converted to left hand drive.

Since the first visit in 1999 Brendon and Richard have supplied quantities of dental equipment to the children?s hospital in Cherkassy city.
